There is an abundance of marine life just below its wooden walkways. Once in a while, guests can see squid and needlefish weaving through the stilts and mandarinfish doing their mating dances just below the water’s surface.

Pulau Kapalai, itself is also a diving area. The variety of macro lives that can be found here is fantastic – Kapalai has been known as a macro-photography destination for many avid divers. Rare species such as frogfish, Blue-ringed Octopus and the Flamboyant Cuttlefish are main attractions here. As the water levels around the island are relatively shallow, dives in this area are generally warm with gentle currents. The shore diving at Pulau Kapalai is free and unlimited, divers can always visit some of the nearby diving spots if they feel that the main boat dives are not enough.

    Sipadan Water Village Reviews

  • “The resort is built over water on stilts projecting an awesome picture of serenity, peace and calm. Our room was quite large and had a balcony overlooking the water where we watched turtles swam by in the morning. We also watched turtles swam and surfaced in the evenings at the helipad landing while drinking beer – what a way to relax.” – Anonymous

  • “What I truly loved about this place was the closeness to the sea. Through every windows in our cottage I could see and here the sea. I also loved the design of the resort. I hope I will be able to return one day.” – Anonymous

  • “Our room was huge with a big balcony over water. With all the shutters and windows open, the entire room feels really airy yet still very private. Best part of our ‘floating’ chalet is the huge green turtles that swam under our balcony every night. We went to sleep to the sound of the ocean and the turtles coming up for air. Food is good with a nice selection of things to eat at every meal. Lots for veggies and the baking is really yummy too. Bar prices are reasonable for beer and wine considering where you are. The dining room has a cut out section down to the sea where you can see tons of lionfish and blue spotted rays having their dinner too.” – Anonymous
