Blue Lagoon / Jepun

Blue Lagoon / Jepun is excellent dive for Macro divers and photographers. It is also a popular dive site for night diving. This dive site is very close to Padang Bai, only a few minute speed boat ride. Visibility is about 25m and best time to dive in Jepun is between June to October. Dive centres usually conduct Open Water Courses and Discover Scuba Diver here, therefore, it is a relatively calm dive site and suitable for beginner.

There are good variety of coral reefs, and different types of gorgonians fan. Marine life is diverse, resident blue-spotted rays, oriental sweet lips, jack fish, octopus, frogfish, cuttlefish, green turtles, crocodilefish, ghost pipefish etc. There are chances to see reef sharks, nurse sharks and wobbegong. For night dive, you may spot spanish dancers, lobsters, leopard sharks etc.

It is recommended to dive in the morning as the sea gets usually rougher in the afternoon.
