Tulamben

Tulamben is considered as one of the most famous diving sites in Bali, Indonesia. It is located in the richest marine biogeographic zone in the world. This site has become more popular because internationally known underwater writers and photographers are most likely seen in the place.

Tulamben bay receives a plankton-rich water from the ocean current that runs from the Pacific ocean to the Indian ocean.

Tulamben has a diverse underwater ecosystem. The dive site’s marine life extraordinarily includes a large school of big-eyed Trevally. There also can be found a 120 meter shipwreck, a nicely colored wall, black sand slope, coral gardens and a great snorkeling site. One of its main features is the full moon night dive. People are also aroused to visit Tulamben because of the photographic underwater opportunities.

Tulamben wall drops off to 60 meters or 197 feet. It has a large barrel sponges and is characterized by three main spurs and an overhang at about 18 meters or 59 feet. Here you can find a school of bumphead parrot fish that grows close to two meters or 7 feet. You will also see other varieties of fish such as pufferfish, fairy basslets, damselfish and hawkfish. In the black ash sand slope, you may also see some ghost pipefish and even comet fish.

Tulamben house reef which is situated in front of the scuba resorts is an edeal ground for students. Its minimum depth is 5 meters or 16 feet and maximum depth is 25 meters or 82 feet. The reef hosts a lot of fish like snappers, wrasses, butterfly fish, unusual frogfish, nudibranchs and scorpionfish.

People say that Tulamben is the most recommendable place in Bali for people who love scuba diving and underwater seeing.
